About Mining Engineer Job Vacancy at Lake Cement Ltd July 2024

Nyati Cement is one of the youngest cement manufacturers in Tanzania and began operations in July 2014. The factory is located in Kimbiji Village, Temeke District, Dar-es-salaam. The brand Nyati Cement operates under the banner of Lake Cement Tanzania ltd.

The factory is currently spread across 100 hectares of land in Kimbiji village and has an annual capacity of 500,000 MT.

Qualification required—Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from a reputed University

Experience – Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on experience in operations of open pit limestone mining. Experience in the operation of Surface Miner is desirable but not mandatory.

Reporting to: HOD – Quarrying

The following are the required skills: –

• Must have good leadership and communication skills.
• Must have experience of Quarry short, medium and long-term planning.
• Clear understanding of statutory and legal compliances, Mines safety requirements and reporting requirements for Ministry of Energy and Minerals, NEMC.
• Knowledge of Quarry rehabilitation/ MCP.
• Ability to carry out monthly stock survey and volume computation together with reconciliation.
• Ability to carry out Internal and External Mining Auditing.
• Competence in Mines and infrastructure design.
• Reporting and data analysis (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly)
• Waste dump design and Management.
• Competence in Earth Moving Equipment’s operation and maintenance
• Must have basic knowledge in Geology (Exploration, Evaluation and Production geology).
• Competence of Fleet Management and optimum utilization and ensuring cost effective operations
• Good skill in survey instruments and volume computation.
• Must possess knowledge of Geotechnical issues.
• Competence in Managing Crusher operations and stockpile management to meet quality and quantity of Raw meal needed for cement plant operations.
• Ability to implement mine safety Management Plan and to ensure a safe and efficient mining operation.
• Any other job as assigned by HOD.
