Data Officer (DO) at Youth Wings (YW) – October 2024 Youth Wings (YW) is a youth-led Civil Society Organization based in Arusha, focused on empowering Tanzanian youth through advocacy for better healthcare, economic opportunities, and social well-being, especially for those vulnerable to HIV. YW is implementing the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project, funded by PEPFAR and USAID, in the Arusha Region. The organization is seeking a motivated Data Officer (DO) to ensure data quality and contribute to the success of the EpiC project.
The Data Officer will be responsible for managing data collection tools, ensuring the accuracy of data entry, and performing regular data quality checks. The DO will also support healthcare providers, peer educators, and data clerks in maintaining high-quality standards for data management and reporting. Key responsibilities include conducting site visits, ensuring the integrity of data systems, and assisting in the preparation of regular performance reports. The position demands attention to detail and an ability to work under tight deadlines.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Health Informatics, or a related field and have 3-5 years of experience in data management, preferably within HIV prevention or care. Familiarity with Tanzania’s MOH data systems and proficiency in data analysis tools such as SPSS, Excel, or Power BI is essential. Experience with knowledge management and data-driven decision-making is highly desirable.
